After a two year hiatus, Mzansi’s much-loved food and music festival, DStv Delicious is back by full force.

This year the much anticipated festival is bringing all the big guns as it will be headlined by international super star Baby Face and Nigeria’s Burna Boy who’s set to set the stage on fire.

According to the organisers of the festival, on the day Mzansi’s musical heritage will be on display.

What’s a festival without paying homage to those that paved the way, the festival organisers further revealed that our local divas including the likes of Simphiwe Dana and Msaki will be doing a tribute performance directed at the late Miriam Makeba, better known as Mama Afrika who would have turned 90 this year.

The festival will be a two-day event and the organisers revealed that on the first day Grammy award-winning musician Burna Boy will be joined on stage by Kwaito Legends – Mdu, Kabelo, Thebe, Arthur, Trompies and Dino Bravo while duo Major League DJz, LKG, Lamiez, Zinhle and Soul Sista Zane will be on the decks.

Speaking to Nounouche, festival director Nokuthula Monaheng said they are delighted to bring back the DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival now that we have made it through this crippling pandemic.

“The festival will be bigger and better than ever before, with amazing culinary and musical talent touching down in Mzansi over the Heritage Day weekend for the greatest festival in Africa,” she said.

“Along with a phenomenal line-up, we will be doing everything we can to support local communities through our partnership with Chefs with Compassion. While celebrating the good times, we must also remember our less-fortunate fellow citizens and invite our fans to do the same. DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival will show up in 2022 – so make sure you do, too!”
