After a year of being off screen, media personality Katlego Maboe is making a comeback.
The talented TV presenter who was booted off SABC 3’s morning show Expresso at the end of 2020 following the scandal of his extra marital affairs, is returning to the popular breakfast show on Monday, 8 August 2022.
In a statement sent to Nounouche, the SABC revealed that on his first day, Katlego will be in conversation with Graeme Richards in what promises to be an emotional sit-down as Katlego unpacks the challenging journey he has been on over the past two years and how he got back to himself.
Speaking about returning to the show Katlego said that it is difficult for him to put into words what he feels at the moment.
“Being back to the place I called home for a decade, I’m filled with so much gratitude.”
“Thank you for all those who have been supportive and encouraging throughout this journey and I’m looking forward to having the opportunity, once again, to help an incredible team deliver an inspiring show to our people.”
Katlego was accused of being abusive to his former partner, but the case is in the court of law.
Commenting on Katlego’s return, Patience Stevens, Managing Director at Cardova TV said domestic violence is a serious problem in our society, and one which Cardova as a company stands strongly against.
“We are relieved that the legal process has run its course and that Katlego has cleared himself in court of such allegations. He is a rare talent and we are very happy to be welcoming him back to Expresso,” she said.
While Van Heerden, SABC 3 Head of Channel concluded and said.
“SABC 3 has always viewed the allegations levelled against Mr Maboe in a serious light and we are delighted that the courts have exonerated him and he can now return to the Expresso family as the host of the show,” Pat .
