Teoni Hinds is a Fine Artist based in the UK who uses her work to romanticize everyday life through figurative art. She uses mediums such as oil paintings, life drawings, film photography, and video art to explore themes of vulnerability and everyday life.
Having grown up in a small town in London, where she would interact with almost the same people daily, Teoni fell in love with painting people when she got to University.
She took her first life drawing class while studying Fine Art at Middlesex University. The saturated colour of her paintings is inspired by Spongebob and the many different people she interacts with. Her artistic practice reflects her belief that art can become a better and safer space for people to be their genuine and authentic selves. It also reflects her personal experiences and those of her friends and family’s experiences- aiming to create a space where people can be their most vulnerable selves and appreciate the small moments of their lives in today’s fast-paced society.
In addition to her art, Teoni has been involved in a few collaborative projects with brands such as Converse for the Converse One Star Pro City Pack, which drew inspiration from four distinctively unique metropolitan environments. Teoni collaborated with Converse to capture the unique spirit of her city.
She has also been involved in community projects like co-launching the Beau Beaus Art Club, which hosts art workshops, exhibitions, film screenings, and live music performances at the Beau Beaus Café- a café located in East London in the UK that is described to be a space for creatives and anyone who wants to be a part of the creative community. Teoni aspires to grow her art beyond the UK and dreams of opening art studios outside the UK. You can check out her artwork on her website (teonihinds.com) or keep up with her on Instagram.
