Cricket South Africa Teams Up with Suzuki in Landmark Sponsorship Deal

Launched on Wednesday, 16 April, 2025 at the iconic Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, this partnership isn’t just about cars—it’s about cricket, community, and a bold new journey.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has just hit a major milestone, announcing Suzuki Auto South Africa as its Official Vehicle Partner and headline sponsor of the Proteas Men’s and Women’s One-Day International (ODI) teams. This three-year partnership marks the Proteas’ first title sponsorship since 2020, signaling a major comeback for CSA’s commercial growth.

The launch event revved up the excitement at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, where the Proteas-branded Suzuki Ertiga was officially unveiled. Sharing the stage at this high-energy announcement were Proteas stars Rassie van der Dussen and Sinalo Jafta, CSA public affairs executive Refentse Shinners, Suzuki’s Bratt Ward, and Henno Havenga, General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Suzuki Auto SA.

A Partnership with Purpose

CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki emphasised the strategic value of the collaboration, calling it a perfect fit for CSA’s vision of excellence and accessibility. “Suzuki is a household name, known for value and service—just like the game of cricket should be. This partnership helps us grow the game and reach more young players across the country.”

The deal goes far beyond branding. Suzuki has donated 30 vehicles to CSA’s Development Hubs, aimed at supporting cricket at the grassroots level. An additional 12 vehicles will bolster CSA’s national operations, providing crucial mobility to support programs and events across South Africa.

A First for Suzuki – and a Big Win for Cricket

This deal is a historic first for Suzuki Auto South Africa, marking the brand’s first-ever national team sponsorship. “It’s a milestone that shows our belief in South African sport and talent,” said Henno Havenga. “While our focus is on the ODI teams, our involvement will stretch across T20 and Test formats too.”

This three-year commitment reflects Suzuki’s broader vision of community upliftment and sporting excellence.

Fueling the Future of South African Cricket

Bratt Ward, Suzuki’s Brand and Marketing Manager, summed it up perfectly- “Sport brings people together and inspires change. This partnership is about more than cricket—it’s about empowering future generations and making an impact where it matters most.”

This partnership represents a refreshing blend of business, sport, and social development. It’s a sign that South African cricket is shifting gears and accelerating into a new era—and Suzuki is helping steer the way.

The Proteas are back with a bold new look, renewed support, and a three-year journey that promises to reshape the cricketing landscape. And it all kicked off in style at Kyalami.
