#TravelTuesday – Things To Do in Cape Town!

Cape Town unquestionably stands as one of South Africa’s most beautiful destinations. With its breathtaking landscapes, captivating ocean vistas, and rich history it has become the go-to destination for holiday-seekers. The Mother City offers a wealth of experiences for all types of visitors: culinary enthusiasts can indulge in a diverse array of amazing restaurants; history buffs can satiate their curiosity through an abundance of museums; and for those who thrive on vibrant nightlife, an unforgettable experience is guaranteed!

Here are just five activities to enjoy in Cape Town:

  1. A breathtaking sunset cruise

Cape Town is known for its charming sunsets. Although there are plenty of spots where one can sit and enjoy the sunset, a champagne cruise is the best way to watch the day go out in style. We’re talking about making yourself at home on a luxury boat and sipping on some bubbles as the sun sets over gorgeous oceanic views and the majestic Table Mountain. Sounds like heaven on earth, right?

  1. Let’s take it back to the beach

Cape Town is home to some of the country’s most pristine beaches. Allow the grains of warm sand to tickle your toes as you enjoy some refreshing ice cream and admire gorgeous ocean views. Muizenberg Beach is famous for its colourful beach houses and if you’re up for it, you can brave the icy Atlantic waters. If you’d like to satisfy yourself with the sight of penguins, Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town is your go-to!

  1. Quench your curiosity at Cape Museums

If you’re big on history then you can’t go wrong in Cape Town. From Nelson Mandela’s tiny cell on Robben Island to the colourful and interesting Bo-Kaap, there is plenty to learn about and explore. The District Six Museum provides a guided and informative tour where you can learn about the forced removals which took place during apartheid, while the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa has some of the best installations by talented local and international artists.

  1. Wine Tasting? Cheers to that!

The Mother City is the place to be for wine connoisseurs. There are a number of wineries which you can add to your itinerary such as Klein Constantia, Eagle’s Nest and Steenberg. Groot Constantia is one of the oldest wine estates and is known for its Sauvignon Blanc. It is also the first varietal-specific wine route in the country. Your winery experience is also the perfect time to improve your knowledge of the different kinds of wine and how they can best be paired.

  1. Party it up on Long Street

Cape Town has many bars and nightclubs where you can pop your favourite bottles, enjoy good music and dance the night away. For beer lovers, Beer House on Long is a definite must-try while The Waiting Room can be enjoyed for intimate live performances. Soho Night Club offers an unforgettable party experience.
