Award-winning singer Makhadzi has taken a break from performing and she is resting at home following a traumatic incident that happened the past weekend.

The seasoned entertainer who was booked at an event in Garankuwa was robbed at gun point and the incident has left her very shaken.

According to a statement that was sent to Nounouche by her record label the incident happened while Makhadzi was waiting in the car at an event where she was scheduled to perform.

“A man verbally abused her and her dancers. Help was sought from bouncers and the man who later apologised,” the statement reads.

The statement further reveals that after the situation was handled the same man returned again later to the car and this time around Makhadzi was alone and put a gun on her neck and dispossessed her of her phone from her hand.

“She then ran to her dancers as the man fired a shot and missed,” the statement continues.

Following the incident and according to the short and brief statement by her team, Makhadzi left the venue, but a car tailed the musician and noticing that she was being followed, she drove to the nearest police station in Ga-Rankuwa and she opened a case.

Makhadzi is at home recovering from the ordeal and has thanked her fans for their unwavering support.

Nounouche reached out to Makhadzi for a comment but her publicity manager Brendon Maseko shared that she’s still traumatised and not ready yet to speak about the incident.
